Description
Valeriano Bernal – handmade guitar from Spain. Great sound, combined with easy playability and fine craftsmanship!
The Spanish guitar maker Valeriano Bernal was born in 1939 in a small village in the province of Cadiz in Andalusia. At the age of eight, Valeriano began to learn the basics of woodworking from his cousin Francisco Ramirez Leo. After a stay in the Spanish Navy, he founded a small workshop near Brussels in 1962. During his stay in Belgium he worked closely with two acoustic engineers to develop new techniques for guitar building.
In 1976 he returned to Spain and founded his own workshop in his home town. Although the Bernal workshop is larger than that of most other guitar makers, each guitar is completely handmade.
Valeriano guitars have that certain something that guitarists love. A lovely deep and dark sound.
They are therefore especially appreciated by professionals. He has sold guitars to Paco Cepero, Manolo SanLúcar, Victor Monge (Serranito), Parrilla, Carbonero. Also great guitarists like Sabicas and Paco de Lucia have used his guitars in their recordings.
This Valeriano Bernal guitar is really a great instrument. It has a cedar top and cypress back and sides. The scale length is 663 mm and the nut width 52 mm. The action at the 12th fret is wonderfully low and the guitar is perfectly adjusted for flamenco.
This guitar plays really well and produces an impressive sound. Very Spanish with a mystical and warm nuance. It has an immediate attack with a honey-like, deep, woody texture. The guitar is very lightweight, typical of the best Andalucian flamenco guitars. It has a powerful and well balanced sound quality.
It is in good condition and has only slight signs of use and play.
In addition the guitar comes with the original case.
