Description

Stauffer style ~1880 – remarkable guitar with exceptional sound.

This guitar was built in Markneukirchen by an unknown luthier. It can be dated around 1880 and was built in the style of Johann Georg Stauffer’s guitars.

This very beautiful guitar was expertly built using very high quality materials.
Nice maple back and sides and a fine spruce top, highest quality tuners, nice inlay works – plus impeccable and masterful craftsmanship … all this makes this guitar a very noble instrument.
In addition, the guitar also has a large body and was certainly an instrument built for a professional musician to be played in the concert hall.
The scale length is 610 mm and the nut width is 43 mm.

The condition of the guitar is good and it has been expertly restored by Paul Janssen. the guitar has two right-hand tuners. This works without any problems. It plays very easily with a straight neck and low action.

The guitar sounds elegant and immediately impresses with a very complex tone. The basses are deep and the trebles are smooth, lively and colorful with great expressiveness.
As soon as you play the guitar, you have the impression of merging with the instrument, because the sound is very touching, this guitar arouses deep emotions and you can literally feel the notes jumping out of the instrument.
In any case, a romantic guitar at a very high level, with which you can authentically revive the music of that time.
