Sentchordi Hermanos ~1880 (Valencia) – excellent classical guitar with great history.
This guitar is an outstanding example of the history of the guitar industry in Valencia. Sentchordi Hermanos is undoubtedly one of the most famous guitar workshops in Valencia and possibly in all of Spain. The brothers Jose and Manuel Sentchordi worked from 1861 to 1905 in their workshop in Calle Bolsería in Valencia, a workshop they inherited from their father Silvestre Sentchordi. The Sentchordi dynasty of guitar makers goes back to Manuel Sentchordi, who probably began making guitars around 1720.
This guitar can be dated to around 1880. With a finely crafted spruce top and beautiful rosewood back and sides, it represents a great masterpiece of the time.
The scale length is 645 mm and the nut width is 49 mm.
With its, for the time, large body and finely crafted top construction, this guitar is a true revelation in terms of sound.
The sound is robust and lively, with plenty of charm and personality. Additionally, the guitar unleashes great depth in every note across the entire register with great bass and lyrical highs.
The guitar is also very lively and has a “friendly” tone with great charm and personality.
