Samuel Carvalho 7-string guitar from 2017 – high-quality classical guitar with signature by Badi Assad.
Samuel Carvalho attended the Municipal Conservatory of Guarulhos in 1985 and began a bachelor’s degree in guitar at the Mozarteum University in 1989. During this time, while he was still studying for his bachelor’s degree, he felt the need for a high-quality instrument and was motivated to enter the world of guitar making. Among his most important references are the guitars of Sergio Abreu, Hermann Hauser and Ignacio Fleta, which served as study material, research and reflection and led him to making handmade instruments in 1995.
Throughout his career, he studied instruments such as Rubio, Fleta, Romanillos, Hauser, Conde Hermanos, etc., in order to continue improving his skills as a craftsman.
The constant search for the development of the quality of his instruments also led him to build 7, 8, 10 and 11 string guitars. He always had the support of critics and friends who tested and played his instruments.
This 7-string guitar was built and signed by Samuel Carvalho in 2017. It has a spruce top and rosewood back and sides. The scale length is 650 mm and the nut width is 60 mm. The tuning machines have been upgraded.
The guitar bears the signature of the famous Brazilian singer, guitarist and composer Badi Assad.
The sound of this guitar is powerful, rich and dark – elegant and majestic. It lives up to its reputation with ease – with powerful and rich highs and loose, bouncy basses that give the guitar a great personality.
