Description

This high quality flamenco guitar was built by Pedro Martinez Penalver in 1998. He is a guitar maker from Baza, a town in the province of Granada. In 1962 Pedro Martinez Penalver began his apprenticeship with Alfonso Checa (1914-1977), considered one of the leading guitar makers in Granada. After Checa’s death, Pedro took over his workshop. Pedro Martinez Penalver’s guitars have a duende that professional flamenco players seek and love.

This guitar is a showpiece of the guitar maker’s art with its outstanding workmanship and unique sound. As is typical of his instruments, this guitar is made of master grade woods. The top is made of the best German spruce, the back and sides are made of high quality rosewood. The scale lengths is 660 mm and the nut width 52 mm.

This guitar is incredibly responsive, with strong projection, and wholly rounded sound. It plays with great ease and sings. This great guitar has also a good bite and the typical flamenco growl, with beautiful punsh in the bass and mid ranges.

It is in good condition for its age and plays extremly well with a low action and a straight neck.
