Patrick Hopmans 1999 – outstanding flamenco guitar – ultra light with very explosive sound!
Patrick Hopmans is a guitar maker in a class of his own. He is now retired and devotes more time to composing and teaching guitar.
As a musician, he has a very unique approach to guitar making, which has sensitized him to the needs of the guitarist and made him very demanding, not only in terms of manufacturing, but also in terms of the choice of materials, humidity conditions, storage and building temperatures. All his instruments are lovingly crafted by hand, which means that they are of an extremely high standard in terms of sound and perfect playability.
Patrick Hopmans builds guitars in the traditional Spanish style as well as historical replicas.
This guitar by Patrick Hopmans from 1999 is simply spectacular. It is light as a feather and immediately captivates with its lively and explosive character. The top is made of fine spruce, the back and sides of cypress. The scale length is 660 mm and the nut width 52 mm.
This Patrick Hopmans 1999 has that brilliant flamenco sound reminiscent of guitars from the good old days.
It produces sharp, percussive rasqueado, but can also play sweetly and has a throaty growl if desired. The guitar is ultra-lightweight and therefore has a quick response and the typical explosive tone. The tone has a fine woody vintage character due to the age of the guitar, which has allowed the guitar to develop its very own style with a lot of charm. Definitely a sound you can fall in love with.
The guitar has been played a lot and has the corresponding signs of use. A small crack on the top has been repaired and is stable. The guitar comes with the original case.
