Masaki Sakurai M-8 1981 – stylish guitar with outstanding Kohno/Sakurai sound!
Masaki Sakurai, nephew of the great Japanese guitar maker Masaru Kohno, was born in 1944. He studied electrical engineering at Sophia University and joined Kohno Guitar Manufacturing after graduating in 1967. In 1988, he won the prestigious first prize at the Fourth International Paris Guitar Making Competition. Masaki Sakurai’s guitars are of impeccable craftsmanship and are known for their ease of playing and great volume of sound.
This beautiful guitar has all the aesthetic qualities of Kohno guitars, such as perfect craftsmanship and a finely grained spruce top.
It has rosewood back and sides. The scale length is 650 mm and the nut width is 52 mm. This guitar is also equipped with a pickup system (Fishman Matrix Inf. Mic Blend Narrow).
