Description
We are delighted to be able to offer you a D-28 1937 Authentic from the Martin Custom Shop today. This acoustic combines the popular sound and comfortable feel of historic acoustic models with today’s demands for practicality. The models from 1937 still serve as cornerstones of the art of guitar making today and continue to set standards for acoustic guitar sounds. Based on these originals this dreadnought from Martin was crafted by making the body from premium selection East Indian rosewood with complete hot-glue joints, a thin Adirondack spruce top for perfect vibration behavior and with the authentic lacquer formula of the 37 models. To meet today’s expectations the only modern update to the guitar is an adjustable truss rod to allow individual settings to be made according to personal preferences. The “Authentic 1937 V Standard Taper” neck profile is super comfortable in the hand, making you want to sweep over the deep dark fingerboard made of solid ebony. The appearance of the D-28 is particularly stunning: classic Martin with great “Bold Herringbone” inlays, “Diamonds & Squares” fingerboard inlays and an attractive “MultiStripe 1937” rosette. The authentic vintage look is achieved primarily through the smooth, high-gloss Vintage Gloss finish, which gives this flawless guitar a wonderfully matt lacquer surface. But what always interests us most is of course the sound of this gem. And here you can really draw from the full! Although the guitar is almost unplayed it develops a fantastic frequency spectrum. Classic, balanced and powerful D-28 sound. This acoustic is loud and voluminous, but despite all its assertiveness it also shows sufficient warmth, extremely differentiated and present. It is suitable for both fingerpicking and strumming. We can offer you this guitar in absolutely mint, almost unplayed condition.
