Description
Pre War Martin 000-18 1941 – this is an amazing example of a Pre War, light weight big bodied Martin guitar.
The 000-Modell is Martins largest 0 size guitar. On these Pre War guitar with an Adirondack spruce top, tortious shell pick guard, steel T bar neck reinforcement, mahogany sides and back, open back grovers and a scalloped bracing.
It has a beautiful even well balanced tone and is an amazing example of a cool player guitar. The sound is bold, open and woody – all you desire.
Many country and rock stars of the 50s and 60s for example Elvis Presley, Ricky Nelson played such a guitar.
It is set up nicely with low action, straight neck and good frets. Perfectly playable.
We have set the price low – you’ll never find a pre war Martin at that price again.
The reason for that is that this guitar has been repaired and brought back to life many times during its lifetime.
It has some repaired cracks. A small patch on the upper side. the bridge has been slightly sanded down and the finish has been lightly oversprayed to protect the original finish.
It is fitted with an older version of a LR Baggs Anthem SL (it looks at least as one of these). The pickup is working and produces a very nice amplyfied sound.
It comes with a fitting non original hardshell case.
