Description
We offer here a Martin 0 – 18 from 1948.
The top made of German spruce with its complex harmonics and the extra portion of clarity was only used for a limited time in the 40s and early 50s. The back and sides are made of high-quality mahogany.
I repeat, this 0 – 18 sounds really very, very, very good. It is really mature and perfectly balanced, with present mids, crystal clear highs and booming basses (amazing what comes out of this small body).
The small 0 – body gives the tone a warm, round nuance and a great projection.
The guitar is in a played and well used condition. As you can see, it has been played a lot and there are many traces of play and use.
There are also repairs that have been made over time. The mechanics have been replaced and the back of the headstock has been nicely coloured with black. Also the bridge doesn’t look quite original anymore.
The finish and everything else is in original condition.
The neck is straight, the frets are in good shape and the string position is super flat. Also the bridge inlay still has place – no Neckreset is to be feared. It also comes in a matching case.
