Beautiful handmade instrument from the workshop of Juan Estruch – replica of a historical Voboam guitar from 1676
Juan Estruch is one of the venerable guitar makers in Spain. Among musicians, guitars like these from the “yellow label” era are very well known. They have a deep and rich sound and are appreciated by musicians and collectors alike.
They are also famous because of Chet Atkins. When asked shortly before his death which of his hundreds of guitars he preferred to play, he chose his 1964 Juan Estruch without hesitation. In fact, this was the guitar Atkins played daily and on which he made many of his “basement recordings” that were found after his death.
This unique guitar has a breathtaking sound – transparent and light. Very clear and absolutely charming. The guitar also has a good sustain and impresses with fine and sweet tones.
It is an absolute pleasure to play this fine guitar and to let it take you away to far away places and past times.
It has a 650 mm scale and 54 mm nut with. It has a spruce top and rosewood back and sides. The instrument has 5-course and all kind of beautiful inlay works including this stunning rose in the soundhole.
It is in very good condition and comes with the original case.
