Description

The Ramirez family has been building high-quality guitars since 1882. These instruments were and are played by some of the greatest guitarists of the world like Julian Bream, Andres Segovia, Laurindo Almeida, Oscar Ghiglia, Jose Luis Gonzales and many more.
The Ramirez family is part of the history of the classical guitar. Jose Ramirez I (1858-1923) trained a large number of guitar makers in his workshop at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. José Ramirez III (1922-1995) was a forerunner in the use of Cedar as top wood and built several guitars for Andres Segovia.
This guitar has a fantastic “Spanish” sound. It reacts very fast, has a warm and colourful tone, a great balance and a remarkable volume. The ambivalence between the spruce of the top and the spontaneity of the cypress on the back and sides gives the guitar an incredible variety of colours and very good dynamic possibilities.
There are well repaired cracks and a closed hole for a pickup, that has been removed. The original hard shell case is included.
The guitar has a 656 mm scale length and a 53 mm nut width. It has a spruce top and cypress back and sides. The action is comfortably low at 3.2 E6 and 2.9 mm E1. It plays with great ease.
