Description
Amazing guitar by Jeronimo Pena from 1972 – it was the working guitar of the professional guitarrist called Juan el Picha and sounds as good as it looks – it has this extraordinary old world flamenco sound!
This is one of the early Pena guitars and it is an absolutely stunning guitar. The woods on this guitar are extraordinary beautiful and the decoration works incredibly nice.
Jeronimo Pena Fernandez’s heavily decorated guitars are perhaps most immediately recognizable by their bold construction details and overall original style.
His excellent training in carpentry and furniture making was not lost on Pena’s guitars, just look at the elaborate woodwork on the bridge and headstock.
The sound of this guitar is powerful and dynamic – as elegant and majestic as its appearance. It impresses with a great volume and a very distinctive vintage tone.
The condition is good, but it has extensive wear from play and use all around. Our luthier has checked the guitar and everything is stable.
It plays easily with a low action. The scale length is 670 mm and the nut width 52 mm. The top is made of very fine spruce, back and sides of beautiful cypress wood.
This guitar is a great instrument of one of the most admirable luthiers of the twentieth century.
