Description
Hermanos Estruch ~1910 – high quality guitar from the important workshop of Juan Estruch Rosell, the founder of the famous Estruch dynasty.
Juan Estruch Rosell was the founder of the Estruch dynasty of guitar builders. He opened his shop in Barcelona in 1880. He was the father of Juan Estruch Sasate, and grandfather of Juan Estruch Pipó.
From 1898 to 1922 they built under the name Hermanos Estruch and in 1902 they moved to Calle Ancha 30.
Enrique Sanfeliu worked under Juan Estruch Rosell in his early years. The shop was also not far from Enrique Garcias workshop and their surely was quite some connection, what we can see in the construction style of the guitars.
This guitar has been very finely built using very good materials. The scale length is 652 mm and the nut width 52 mm. The top is made of fine alpine spruce, back and sides of rosewood.
This guitar has a wonderful vintage tone, with lyrical highs and a dark, characterful and almost mystical sound quality. The guitar has great depth to every note up the entire register with a big bottom-end. It has it all – very lively and “friendly” with great charm and personality.
The guitar is in great condition for its age. The neck is perfectly straight and the action is pleasantly low.
The guitar plays with great ease. The original French polish has been refreshed and small cracks have been repaired in a stable and professional way.
It comes with a newer hard case.
