Description

ohh man, what a beast this SJ-200 from 1952 is? The true king of the Flattops!

Up for grabs is this 1952 Gibson SJ-200 in Tobacco Sunburst finish. You just need trust us here: this is the best sounding SJ-200’s we’ve ever come across!
It sounds how you always want these to sound, and sometimes never do: high volume, big bottom end, with beautiful clarity (NOT THIN).

It has a low action and plays like a dream. Very comfortable & easy playing medium C profile neck.
Yes it’s beat up (to say the least)….but the great ones always seem to be! What makes the guitar really interesting, is even though the serial and FON date to ’52, it has some late 40’s spec’s. Which include it being single x-braced, (as opposed to double x-braced, which they switched to in ’52), and the side of the headstock gets thinner at the top (which changed in 1950).
At some point the guitar had a pickup some filled holes on the top where knobs used to be, are still visible. There are also two filled input jacks. There is 1 crack repair on the top below the guard and 3 repaired cracks on the back. All have been professionally repaired and are good to go!
Tuners, saddle and bridge pins have been replaced. It comes with an old, but not original case.

This guitar has all the magic you have ever dreamed of!
