Description
This Gibson LG-2 from 1951 is the real deal – rocked hard, with a sound to die for! It is a harmonically rich acoustic guitar, with a ton of vibe and a great “opened-up” tone as well as excellent playability – exactly how we want them.
This nice guitar solid spruce (Adirondack) and mahogany construction, with a nicely aged warm sunburst finish, a mahogany neck topped with a rosewood fingerboard, a rosewood bridge.
This guitar is in very nice vintage condition – some wear from play and use and some well repaired cracks … it looks very nicely overall. The tuners are vintage style replacements.
It plays very easily with a straight neck and good frets. It had a neck reset.
This guitar is one of the most articulate, mature mahogany guitars that we’ve owned – just amazing. Rich and deep … a very powerful guitar. The whole construction and the matured woods create this most haunting voice that can’t be described with any degree of accuracy.
The FON in the inside dates this guitar to the year 1951.
It comes with a non original case.
