Description
This Gibson LG-2 1946 is as sweet sounding as they come! An intimate, harmonically rich acoustic guitar, with a ton of vibe and a great “opened-up” tone as well as excellent playability.
A very rare piece from the early post war periode with mahogani back and sides.
It has a nice solid spruce tope, with a nicely aged warm sunburst finish, a mahogany neck topped with a rosewood fingerboard, a rosewood bridge. It has the original Kluson tuners too (replaced buttons).
This guitar is in very good shape for it’s age – it does have normal finish checking and some finish wear from play and use. No cracks or breaks. It had a neck reset and the action is at 2.3 mm E and 1.8 mm e at the 12th fret. The saddle of the bridge has some good amount of room left.
The guitar boasts excellent play-ability with good angles. Notes just jump off the fingerboard of this one – is a great example of an early Gibson!
The FON is not legible.
This Gibson LG-2 1946 comes with the original case.
