Description
This Gibson LG-2 from the 40’s is as sweet sounding as they come! An intimate, harmonically rich acoustic guitar, with a ton of vibe and a great “opened-up” tone as well as excellent playability.
A very rare piece from the early post war periode with mahogani back and sides.
It has a nice solid spruce tope, with a nicely aged warm sunburst finish, a mahogany neck topped with a rosewood fingerboard, a rosewood bridge. It has the original Kluson tuners too.
This guitar in is good shape for it’s age – it does have normal finish checking and some finish wear from play and use. Some cracks have been repaired. The repairs are very well done and everything is very solid.
The guitar boasts excellent play-ability with good angles. Notes just jump off the fingerboard of this one – is a great example of an early Gibson!
It comes with a newer case.
