Description
This Gibson LG-2 from the 40’s is as sweet sounding as they come! An intimate, harmonically rich acoustic guitar, with a ton of vibe and a great “opened-up” tone as well as excellent playability.
A very rare piece from the Banner periode with maple neck and mahogany top. It has a nice mahogany back and sides, with a nicely aged warm sunburst finish and a maple neck. It has the original Kluson tuners too.
This guitar is in player grade condition. It has been professionally restored and the bridge has been replaced (including some work around the bridge area). The finish is original, but has a huge amount of wear from play and use all around. Some cracks have also been repaired.
The guitar boasts excellent play-ability with good angles. Notes just jump off the fingerboard of this one – is a great example of an early Banner Gibson!
We think it is from 1944 according to the specs. The serial number is still a bit visible, but hard to tell. It comes with a newer case.
