Gibson J-35 1939 sunburst – original and rare pre war Gibson guitar. An amazing opportunity to get the real Gibson pre war Dreadnought sound.
During the time before the second world war Martin and Gibson both introduced new guitar models. Handmade with best materials and in a low quantity of production.
In 1936 the Gibson J-35 was introduced and built for 6 years until in 1942 it was replaced by the J-45 Model.
The Gibson J-35 featured a spruce top with mahogany for the back, sides and neck.
The finish on this one is a dark sunburst, which was Gibsons most famous at the time.
This 1939 Gibson J-35 model is in good playing order and sounds great – it’s very full, brilliant, lively and responsive.
The guitar is light like a feather and creates the most beautiful tones you can imagine. The woods vibrate amazingly and give this beautiful guitar a very charming wooden sound.
This guitar is in a good and original vintage condition. It has had a neck reset and a refret. The centre seam has been reglued and 2 tiny cracks on the back repaired.
It is in a fantastic vintage condition, when we consider its age.
The action of this Gibson J-35 is low and it plays great with a straight neck.
It comes with the original and beaten up guitar case.
