Description
Emilio Fernandez 2019 “negra” – one of the most spectacular guitars we’ve seen lately – it reminds strongly of the Faustino Conde guitars from Conde’s golden age.
Emilio Fernandez is a very remarkable guitar maker. He was still very young when he learned the art of guitar making in Faustino Conde’s workshop in 1970. After a short time, he was already building the master class guitars in the Conde workshop.
He remained loyal to Conde Hermanos even after Faustino Conde’s death and continued to work as workshop manager for Faustino Conde’s widow until 2013.
In 2013 he finally opened his own workshop in Madrid. There he builds high end and exclusively handmade guitars. His choice of materials is of very high quality and his workmanship is masterful!
This guitar has a spruce top with a straight and even grain over the entire surface. The sides and back are made of high-quality rosewood.
The scale length is 660 mm and the nut width 52 mm.
It has a strong and authoritative voice with exceptional balance between the singing highs and the deep lows. Huge dynamic range and just perfect playability.
The tone is thick yet clear and has an essential warm, mysterious and moody quality. The sound comes with controlled and balanced layers of overtones stacked on the crystal-clear fundamental. It has an almost cathedral-like presence, which gives it plenty of power for any concert hall.
This guitar easily rivals those costing 2-3 times as much.
The guitar is in very good condition. It shows signs of use and play but is free of cracks and repairs.
It comes with the original hard case.
