Description

French romantic guitar from ~1860 – in the tradition of Coffe Goguette, Hyppolite Colin, Roudhloff, Rene Lacote, Petitjean …

Sometimes you wish these guitars could talk … that’s the case with this little masterpiece.
A very beautifully built guitar, exceptionally good … but unfortunately there is no reference to the builder. However it resembles the guitars of Coffe Goguette and probably it was made in his shop.

This beautiful guitar has amazing back and sides made of birdseye maple. The top is of fine spruce.
The lovely shaped bridge literally smiles at the observer. The beautifully decorated rosette and the discreet purfling, as well as the beautifully crafted headstock complete the picture.
The scale length of the guitar is 630 mm and the nut width 46 mm.

The guitar has a fine sound, sweet and with a lot of character and charisma. The guitar fascinates with its lively and charming nature and you feel directly connected to it.
The matured wood and the fine construction create wonderful timbres and a captivating tone. Nevertheless, it also has the volume and power that you want from such a guitar.

The guitar was in rough shape and many cracks have been repaired. Now everything is well and it plays great with a low action.
