Description

Casa Arcangel Fernandez 1970’s – amazing sounding flamenco guitar from this famous shop in Madrid!

Arcangel Fernandez is considered one of the best guitar makers in history. He was born in 1932 and started his career as a carpenter. In 1954, he met the great guitar maker Marcelo Barbero, who was considered the best guitar maker in Madrid at the time and had worked with Santos Hernández. Barbero and Fernández are equally imposing figures in the world of guitar making. Arcángel Fernández’s work as a guitar maker, for example, is at the heart of what makes the typical modern flamenco guitar.
Fernández founded a shop with Manuel Rodríguez, which also sold a number of instruments made by other talented guitar makers. In 1959, Marcelo Barbero’s son joined him and they worked together for 40 years.

This nice guitar bearing the label “Casa Arcangel Fernandez” is a guitar built according to Arcangels guitars by some other workers.
It has a nice spruce top and cypress back and sides. The scale length is 655 mm and the nut width 52 mm.

This guitar guitar is very nice … punchy, lively, lightweight built and responsive … a true flamenca blanca, that leaves nothing to be desired. As soon as you start to play this guitar, the response is incredible, it is an extraordinary instrument with incredible good comfort, sweet, beautiful and lyrical sound, singing like a human voice, but awakens with a tremendous bite when pushed with the slightest flamenco touch.

It is in a very good and original condition, with just some amount of wear from play and use.
