Description
Antonio Duran 1978 “negra” – amazing handmade guitar from Granada. Deep and bold sounding guitar!
Antonio Duran lived from 1940 to 2007 and learned guitar making from Eduardo Ferrer. In 1958 Antonio Duran married Eduardo Ferrer’s daughter and began working in his own workshop. He developed his own system of top bracing. Among his students were Juan Lopez Aguilarte, Antonio Velazques Reinosa, and Rafael Moreno Aguilar.
Antonio Duran’s guitars not only have the workmanship and beauty you would expect from a quality handmade instrument, but they also have a rich, deep and balanced sound.
This one is no exception … it has a wonderful and sweet tone with tremendous power. The trebles are clear and focused. The basses are firm. The balance between treble and bass is excellent. It is a very flexible guitar – loud and growling when played hard, but it also sings with the sweetest melodies when played softly.
A true high-end guitar – with all the qualities you would expect from a great, masterfully built guitar.
This guitar has a spruce top and rosewood back and sides. The scale length is 667 mm and the nut width is 54 mm. It is in good condition – it has some signs of play and use and 2 small repairs, that have been professionally done.
It comes with a new guitar case.
