Miguel Garcia Cabezas 2000 – Exquisite Handmade Guitar with a Powerful Sound and Unique Design

Occasionally, we come across instruments that truly astonish us—this guitar is one of those rare finds. Its distinctive design immediately caught our attention, and once we heard its sound, we were absolutely captivated. This guitar is very loud, deep and full of magic – we honestly can say it is one of our all time favourite guitars!

Miguel Garcia Cabezas is a highly skilled luthier based in Burgos, Spain. With over 30 years of experience crafting both classical and flamenco guitars, he has developed a unique construction style that blends traditional Spanish craftsmanship with innovative techniques. While rooted in the rich heritage of Spanish guitar-making, he has explored unconventional materials and creative solutions, incorporating elements such as carbon fiber reinforcements, zero frets, electric guitar tuners, and uniquely shaped headstocks. His instruments stand out not only for their aesthetics but also for their exceptional tonal qualities.

This particular guitar, built in 2000, features a beautiful cedar top paired with rosewood back and sides. With a scale length of 664 mm and a nut width of 52 mm, it offers an excellent balance of comfort and playability. The eye-catching headstock design is a testament to Garcia Cabezas’ distinctive approach to luthiery.

Tonally, this guitar is nothing short of extraordinary. It boasts a bold, commanding voice with remarkable balance between its rich, singing trebles and deep, resonant basses. The dynamic range is vast, allowing for both delicate nuance and powerful projection. The tone is warm and expressive, with a mysterious, almost ethereal character. The sound is layered with complex overtones, creating a depth and presence that fills any concert hall effortlessly. It is an instrument that easily competes with guitars valued at two to three times its price.

Having been well-loved and extensively played, this guitar shows signs of use, adding to its charm and character. As is often the case with truly exceptional guitars, the best-sounding ones tend to be those that have been played the most. The guitar plays well, with a low action and a straight neck. It is setup at 3.7 mm E and 3.0 mm e at the 12th fret. The saddle of the bridge has much room left to go lower if desired.

It comes with a hard case.

A rare and remarkable instrument—one that will inspire any guitarist seeking both individuality and superb sound.
