José Ramírez 1a “Da Cámara” 1984 – a masterpiece of a classical guitar with exquisite sound qualities!

For over half a century, José Ramírez has been one of the most recognized names in the world of classical and flamenco guitars. Played by legendary artists such as Andrés Segovia, Chet Atkins, Sabicas, and Christopher Parkening, Ramírez guitars are synonymous with Spanish guitar excellence.

The José Ramírez 1a “Da Cámara” is a top-tier concert instrument, built with the finest tonewoods selected by the Ramírez workshop. This 1984 example showcases the exceptional craftsmanship and tonal refinement that have made these guitars so sought after. The “Da Cámara” feature, developed by José Ramírez III, includes an internal wooden shelf lining the sides of the guitar’s body, designed to minimize wolf tones and enhance both power and clarity. Whether one believes in its acoustic effects or not, one thing is certain—these guitars deliver a deep, resonant, and beautifully articulate sound.

The guitar features a premium cedar top paired with exquisite rosewood back and sides, offering a perfect balance of warmth, projection, and sustain. The characteristic Ramírez neck profile ensures excellent playability, while the detailed woodwork, rosette, and bindings reflect the workshop’s dedication to artistry.

This 1984 Ramírez 1a “Da Cámara” is in excellent condition with only minor playing wear, preserving its rich tonal character and structural integrity. It comes with a newer hard case for protection and storage. It has the typical Ramirez scale lengths of 664 mm and 54 mm nut width. It plays great with low action ( 3.8 mm E and 3.0 mm e) and straight neck.

A true masterpiece of a classical guitar from one of Spain’s most prestigious workshops—ideal for professionals and collectors seeking an instrument of the highest caliber.
