Taylor Guitars started in 1974 in Lemon Grove CA, and moved in 1987 to Santee CA, and lastly to their current modern production facility in El Cajon.
Back in those early years, Taylors were truly handmade guitars. No CNC automation, No finger jointed 3 piece necks, no Poly finishes…..truly a boutique made premium guitar.
This 510 is constructed from all solid materials. Honduran Mahogany Back, Sitka spruce top, one piece Mahogany neck, Nitro lacquer finish, and just a wonderful aged tone.
Unlike new Taylors, these have a full bloom tone, and not so much of the abrasive tang of the modern models.
The guitar is in very fine condition, showing only honest and mild evidence of age. A few minor finish dings, etc. just the kinda stuff youd expect to see with a guitar that’s over 33 years old.
The tone is Loud and full, with articulate note separation that still manages to be round and musical. Similar to a Martin D-18
The original case is included as well.
