Description

This Gibson LG-2 1947 is the real deal – rocked hard, with a sound to die for! It is a harmonically rich acoustic guitar, with a ton of vibe and a great “opened-up” tone as well as excellent playability – exactly how we want them.

This nice guitar solid spruce and mahogany construction, with a nicely aged warm sunburst finish, a mahogany neck topped with a rosewood fingerboard, a rosewood bridge. It has the original vintage tuners.

This guitar is in very nice vintage condition – some wear from play and use, but incredibly clean for the age. On the back it has 2 small repaired cracks and the center seam reglued.
It plays very easily with a straight neck and good frets. The guitar had a neck reset. The action is at 2.3 mm E and 1.7 mm e at the 12th fret and the saddle of the bridge has room left for further adjustments. The nut width is 43 mm.

This guitar is one of the most articulate, mature mahogany guitars that we’ve owned – just amazing. Rich and deep … a very powerful guitar. The whole construction and the matured woods create this most haunting voice that can’t be described with any degree of accuracy.

The FON has faded. The specs and the information from the previous owner dates this guitar to 1947.

It comes with a newer case.
