Pietro Gallinotti 1939 – handmade guitar of the highest quality and incredibly good sound!
This guitar was built after the Manuel Ramirez of Segovia for the famous Italian guitarist Luigi Modenesi.
Pietro Gallinotti was born in 1885 and died in 1979 in Solero in Piedmont, Italy. He won medals in Geneva, Rome 1931 and Bologna 1936. He started as a violin maker and gradually concentrated more on guitar making. His work was very precise and he is known for working long hours on his instruments to achieve the best possible result.
Pietro Gallinotti occupies an important place in the world of Italian guitar making and is often compared to the famous Ignacio Fleta from Spain.
When Andres Segovia visited Alessandria to give a concert, Pietro was commissioned to repair Segovia’s 1937 Hauser guitar. This opportunity to study such an instrument intensively had a profound influence on Gallinotti.
Later, Pietro had the privilege of presenting Segovia one of his own guitars. The maestro was deeply impressed by the quality of the guitar and left a note of appreciation on it.
This is a beautiful concert guitar model from 1939, a very special model built by Gallinotti for the famous Italian guitarist Luigi Modenesi. Modenesi was a close friend of Andres Segovia and wanted this guitar to be built after the model of Segovia’s Manuel Ramirez.
The scale length is 645 mm and the nut width is 50 mm. The top is made of fine spruce, the back and sides of maple. It is supplied with the original case.
Words are not enough to describe the rich and harmonious sound of this excellently built guitar. Whether the beauty of individual notes, melodic sequences or the blending of tones in counterpoint or chord harmony – this fine guitar inspires in all respects. Added to this is the unique experience of feeling the resonance of the guitar on your own body while playing, which is made possible by the very light construction of the guitar.
