Espana Harp Guitar 1960’s – extraordinary guitar made in Finland – with special look and sound!

Espania is a brand of guitar produced in the Landola factory in Pietarsaari (Finland). Under this brand classical guitars were produced for the European and North American market.

This harp guitar or pseudo harp as some might call it, is a special construction with an hollow arm on the left side of the instrument. This construction gives the instrument a deeper and fuller sound. It also gives the player a nice reponse of sound, with its second soundhole closer to the ear of the player. The top of the guitar is of spruce. Back and sides are of rosewood. The scale length is 630 mm and the nut width 50 mm.

The sound of this guitar is really extraordinary. The sound is perceived quite differently by the player, as it comes close to the player’s ear due to the additional cavity. The basses of the guitar are deep and strumming, and the trebles, bright and crystal clear. It has a nice sustained sound and a good balance between basses and trebles. A very nice timbre that sublimely combines power and volume with quality and perfect pitch.

The condition of this guitar is good. It has a few smaller repairs and you can see the traces of aging and playing on it. The neck is straight and the guitar plays great with a low action and good frets.
