Description

Dane Matthew Hancock “Torres” 2005 – High-end Torres style guitar – lightweight with authentic sound!

Dane Matthew Hancock and his brother Sean Hancock are the guitar builders behind Hancock guitars. Both started building guitars at a very early age and are now among Australia’s most promising young guitar builders.
Fine woodworking has been in the Hancock family for several generations: Dane Matthews and Sean’s great-great-grandfather Arthur Collingwood was a noted woodworker who worked at Westminster Cathedral in London, England. In 1997, the Hancock brothers became the youngest Australians to win the Nescafe Big Break after appearing with their guitars on the national television morning show Today (along with their father Kim, who is also a guitar maker).
The woodwork on the Hancock guitars is extremely precise and is carefully finished with a thin coat of shellac.

This beautifully built guitar is based on the Torres SE-49, with a fine spruce top and a very nice 7-piece flamed maple back. The sides are also made of maple. The guitar has a scale length of 650 mm and a nut width of 52 mm.

With this excellently built guitar, words are not enough to describe how rich and harmonious the sound is. Whether it is the beauty of individual notes, melodic sequences, or the fusion of notes in counterpoint or chordal harmony, this fine guitar delights in all aspects. In addition, there is the unique sensation of feeling the resonance of the guitar, on your own body while playing, which is possible due to the very light construction of the guitar.
This is one of the best Torres replicas we have ever had in our store. We can recommend this guitar without any reservations.

The guitar has light signs of use and is in very good condition. It comes in the original Hiscox guitar case.
