Hirohiko Hirose Tasuhiko model 10 1978 – fine Spanish style classical guitar handmade in Japan!
Hirohiko Hirose was one of the Japanese luthier pioneers who along with Sakazo & Rokutaro Nakade, Hiroshi & Mitsuru Tamura and Masaru Kohno were adopting Spanish blueprints and modernizing Japanese Luthiery. Hirohiko was highly regarded in Japan. He was running small traditional workshop located in Nagoya, being helped by just one apprentice at the time. At some point in time his only apprentice was his own son Tatsuhiko and both names were printed on the labels.
The quantity of their production was limited to a small number of handbuilt instruments.
This guitar is their model 10 and was built in 1978. It has nice Rosewood back and sides and a fine cedar top. Hirose is well known for only using high quality wood material which have been dryed and matured over many years.
It has a scale lenght of 650 mm and a nut width of 52 mm.
This guitar has excellent dynamics, an exceptionally substantial tone, as well as sharpness of separation and good response. It is a classical guitar that meets the highest demands in terms of material, workmanship and sound.
It is a beautiful instrument in good condition, which has only the normal amount of wear from play and use which you can expect of such an instrument.
Really a charming guitar which is very similar to those instruments of Masaru Kohno we had in our shop.
