Basilio Marin Ferrer 1929 – excellent classical guitar with great sound quality and fine vintage tone!
Basilio Marin Ferrer was a guitar maker who worked in Zaragoza from about 1890 until the 1930’s. His shop was located in Calle Manifestación, No. 62.
He won several awards for his guitars, including the Gold Medal in 1901 at an exhibition in his hometown of Zaragoza, the Silver Medal at another guitar exhibition in 1902, and finally the Honorary Award at the Spanish/French Guitar Exhibition in 1908.
His guitars are of good quality and are similar in style to the guitars of Valencia.
This guitar is a real masterpiece. It is very well built and the materials are of good quality. The top is made of fine spruce, the back and sides of walnut. The nut width is 53 mm and the scale length is 646 mm.
Built in the style of a Torres guitar, the sound is absolutely outstanding.
It has the classic sound of an old master guitar: woody, dark with a friendly vintage note.
Above all, the guitar is powerful and responsive. The sound quality can be described as mystical with an almost magical appeal. The guitar fills the whole room with the most beautiful tones and impresses with a breathtaking variety of timbres.
An absolutely noble instrument on concert level – very finely built for highest tonal demands.
The guitar has been professionally restored and is in remarkably good condition. The action is low and the guitar plays with great ease.
