Description
Gibson J-50 1949 – we were surprised about the great vintage sound of this guitar and because of that, we are happy to offer this amazing vintage player for a reasonable price!
The Gibson J-50 features the same specifications as its sunburst sibling, the Gibson J-45. It is the so called workhorse among the Gibson guitar family – it will never let you down, always ready when you need it.
Bob Dylan, John Hiatt, Brad Paisley … the list of the famous J-50 players is very long.
This guitar has been through a lot and has all kind of scars from the years of play and use – it has transformed this great guitar into a real sund machine. The sound has a very strong vintage touch and the matured wood resonates just great. The sound is deep and the basses have a lovely growling. It is the perfect guitar for recording, stage or personal use at home.
Throughout the years this guitar has simply been played, loved and it always has been a faithful companion. When you play this guitar you understand why it has been repaired and brought back to life over the years … it was simply indispensable.
Questions like: How many cracks does the guitar have? … what has been repaired? etc. are probably the wrong ones!
Even we can’t quite get an overview of what has been done on this guitar … but one thing is for sure, it is super solid and plays like a champ. It has received a neck reset and the action is extremly good.
The whole structure of the guitar is good and we have checked it all around – it is ready for the next stage and waiting for a new home.
The finish has been sanded and is mat now. Bridge, tuners and pickguard have been replaced.
A solid, not original case is included.
An interesting point is that Bob Dylan also played such a beat-up Gibson J-50 in his early years.
