Description
Gerardo Escobedo 2016 – lightweight guitar with explosive and extremely lively sound quality!
Gerardo Escobedo was born in 1979 into a long family line of respected guitar makers – his father is guitar maker Salvador Escobedo, and Gerardo grew up learning the craft in his father’s workshop with his brothers Jaime, Jesus and Robert. He built his first guitar at the age of 16 and continued his studies at the Escuela Superior de Musica de la EJUD. He has won prizes in several major guitar building competitions, most notably first prize in 2007 at national competitions in Uruapan and Patzcuaro, and second prize in 2009 at an international competition held annually in Paracho with 500 participants! He builds his guitars in a humidity controlled environment in the otherwise very dry town of Paracho, Mexico.
This is truly an exceptionally well made instrument. The guitar immediately impresses with an incredible lightness. As a result, the sound is explosive and spontaneous. An incredibly lively guitar that is a lot of fun to play. It has great and distinctive basses. Although the bass is huge, it is transparent all the way to the upper registers and does not crowd out the brilliant, crystal clear highs – the guitar therefore maintains an unusually perfect balance, even amidst the fullness of the bass notes.
The top is made of cedar, the back and sides of beautiful Mexican rosewood. The scale length is 650 mm and the nut width is 51 mm. The guitar has an arm rest, which protects the guitar from wear marks by the right hand and provides improved vibration of the top. The guitar also has an additional sound hole on the side.
The guitar is in very good condition with only a few signs of use. It comes with the original and extremely solid case.
This is a fantastic guitar at an incredible price!
