Description

Mariano Conde 2017 “Media Luna” – flamenco guitar with cutaway and Fishman pickup.

Mariano Conde is a guitar maker with tradition. He is the direct heir of the old workshops of Conde Hermanos and Esteso, founded in 1915. Mariano Conde lives for this heritage: building guitars with a soul, using the artisan techniques of more than 100 years of company tradition at Conde.

Conde flamenco guitars are very popular among musicians and are/were played by famous guitarists for generations: Paco de Lucia, Manolo de Huelva, Nino Ricardo, Sabicas, Esteban de Sanlucar, Oscar Herrero, Jose Manuel Canizares, Rafael Riqueni, Enrique de Melchor, Al Di Meola, Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens, John Williams, Lenny Kravitz, David Byrne, Toninho Horta….

This Conde flamenco, with the familiar Media Luna head, has a fast response, crisp basses, lively trebles and a nice growly, dry sound that is so typical of a good Conde.
Although still relatively new, this guitar already sounds very open and responds quickly to every stroke of the strings.

The wood selection by Mariano with his famous “old stock” is sensational. The top is made of selected first-class spruce with beautiful grain, back and sides of solid and beautiful maple. The scale length is 664 mm and the nut width is 52 mm. The guitar is built with a cutaway and a Fishman pickup.

All flamenco guitars made by Mariano Conde are unique. They are purely handmade with a handwritten label and individual serial numbering.
The guitar has a few signs of use and a professionally repaired crack on the top. It plays exceptionally well with a straight neck, low action and a comfortable neck profile.

The guitar comes in its original case, which also shows some signs of use.

This guitar is a rare opportunity to acquire an exceptionally good sounding instrument, with many modern features but built in the traditional way of the house of Conde Hermanos.
