Description
Johann Georg Stauffer 1853 – extremely remarkable guitar with exceptional sound. The guitar has a Johann Georg Stauffer label dated 1953.
The fine construction of the guitar corresponds with the Stauffer guitars we have seen so far. However, we do not guarantee the authenticity of the label and offer the guitar at a much lower price than a doubtlessly original Stauffer guitar.
Johann Georg Stauffer was born in 1778 in Vienna where he also died in 1853.
He first learned the art of guitar making from Franz Geissenhof. In his early years he built entirely on basis of the models of the Italian master luthiers Gaetano Vinaccia and Giovanni Battista Frabricatore.
Johann Georg Stauffer is considered the most important Viennese guitar maker and is a central figure in guitar making in general.
This very beautiful guitar was built very expertly using very high quality materials.
One-piece maple back, height-adjustable neck, highest quality tuners, subtle ornamentation – plus impeccable and masterful craftsmanship … all this makes this guitar a very noble instrument.
In addition, the guitar also has a large body and is certainly an instrument built for a professional musician to be played by him in the concert hall.
The maple used for the back and sides is of outstanding quality. The guitar also has a very fine spruce top. The scale length is 630 mm and the nut width is 46 mm.
The condition of the guitar is very good and it has been expertly restored by Domenico Pizzonia. It plays very easily with a straight neck and low action.
The guitar sounds elegant and immediately impresses with a very complex tone. The basses are deep and the trebles are smooth, lively and colorful with great expressiveness.
As soon as you play the guitar, you have the impression of merging with the instrument, because the sound is very touching, this guitar arouses deep emotions and you can literally feel the notes jumping out of the instrument.
In any case, a romantic guitar at a very high level, with which you can authentically revive the music of that time.
