Spectacular sounding Guild F-20 1969 – very impressive vintage sound!
Guild is one of the big US-American manufacturers of guitars beside Martin and Gibson. The company was founded in 1952 by Alfred Dronge and George Mann. By 1956 Guild was already so successful that they had to move to larger premises in Hoboken, New Jersey. Here some of the Guild guitars that are in great demand today were built.
During the 1950’s and 1960’s, Guild supplied many of the famous musicians and became increasingly popular.
From this golden age of Guild comes this great F-20. These guitars are well known for their brilliance and warmth. With their small-body, similar to a Martin O-18, they are perfect for blues, jazz, fingerstyle …
This fantastic guitar is resonant and punchy, with a full tone and great clarity and definition. It’s a very responsive guitar, with a very comfortable action and a great feeling neck. The projection is focussed, but without being overly trebly. The warm vintage tone adds a lot of charme to this great guitar.
It is in good condition for its age but has small repairs all around – there is also a spot on the lower side, where a repair has an additional finish touch up. Our luthier has checked everything and it is ready to enjoy. The neck is straight and the action low.
