Richard Jacob Weissgerber 1934 Simplicio model – spectacular and extremely rare classical guitar!
In the eyes of many connoisseurs, Richard Jacob Weissgerber is the most creative, experimental and versatile guitar maker of the 20th century. There is no other master guitar maker in the world whose instruments are as versatile as those of Richard Jacob Weissgerber.
That is why we consider him to be the number one German guitar maker.
This Simplicio model is of outstanding beauty and captivates with its unique sound.
The wonderfully carved head with ebony veneer is absolutely outstanding and beautifully crafted. The guitar has the typical Weissgerber three-fan bracing. The top is made of fine spruce and the back and sides of magnificent rosewood.
The scale length is 650 mm and the nut width is 50 mm.
The sound is typically brilliant, as known from Weissgerber’s best instruments. The basses are impressive … full, warm and powerful in depth. They harmonise perfectly with the round and sensitive treble.
The guitar is wonderfully light and has a loose and spontaneous attack. The German spruce top is very responsive and the last ninety years of playing have given this guitar a powerful and colourful tone.
The guitar overall gives a magical and unique sound experience, with the distinct hint of Weissgerber mystery and Weissgerber genius in every note!
The condition of this instrument is exceptionally good. Only on the back a fine crack has been professionally repaired.
The guitar is in original condition and comes with the original case.
