Description

Abraham Ortega – a flamenco guitar with a huge punsh and a great dynamic!

Abraham Ortega is a Sevilla based luthier. He learned in the shop of the famous Andres Dominguez and is his successor.
His guitars fall into a special category. They are true hand made instruments, built by an old-school luthier using the finest materials. They possess a wonderful sound and are very affordable.
On our last trip throug Spain we were able to test some guitars from Abraham Ortega … we were really surprised about the incredibly good sound of those guitars and we selected this one for our shop.

This guitar has a nice cedar top and a cypress body – a nice combination which produces an incredible flamenco sound. The scale length is 655 mm and the nut width 52 mm.

The tone of this particular instrument is sweet, warm and lyrical while retaining the full bite and energy of flamenco: when playing melodically, it sings like a human voice, but also awakens with a tremendous bite when pushed hard. The strong, voice-like trebles are balanced by it’s big low-end that is full but not boomy.
The excelent craftsmanship allows the body to unfold a very nice flamenco tone with the most beautiful timbres.

The setup is very comfortable and the guitar plays with great ease. It is in a good condition for the age and only 2 cracks have been professionally repaired.

A great chance to get a high quality handmade guitar at an affordable price.
