During the time before the second world war Martin and Gibson both introduced new guitar models. Handmade with best materials and in a low quantity of production.
In 1936 the Gibson J-35 was introduced and built for 6 years until in 1942 it was replaced by the J-45 Model.

The Gibson J-35 featured a spruce top with mahogany for the back, sides and neck.
The finish on this one is a dark sunburst, which was Gibsons most famous at the time.

This 1938 Gibson J-35 model is in good playing order and sounds great – it’s very full, brilliant, lively and responsive.
The guitar is light like a feather and creates the most beautiful tones you can imagine. The woods vibrate amazingly and give this beautiful guitar a very charming wooden sound.

This guitar is in a very good and original vintage condition. It has had a neck reset and a refret. The top and the back is completely clean and crack free. Only on the sides we ca find a few tiny and old crack repairs, if we look carefully.
It is in a fantastic vintage condition, when we consider its age. The knobs of the tuners have been replaced.

The action of this Gibson J-35 is low and it plays great with a straight neck.

It comes with the original and beaten up guitar case.
