What a look and what a sound …. this Gibson J-50 1968 is simply stunningly beautiful! If you are looking for a cool vintage Gibson roundshoulder dreadnought … don’t look any further …
The Gibson from the 60’s are famous. In this time acoustic guitars had a revival and Gibson was a great address for many to find a great acoustic guitar, such as the ones played by the famous musicians of the time.
The guitars that were built at that time with great care, under selection of high-quality materials.
They then became world-famous in the decades that followed, because it was recognized that these guitars represent one of Gibson’s best periods in terms of quality.
This Gibson J-50 1968 (with the serial number 950868) is real gem with character in appearance and above all in sound.
Such an incredible vintage sound can only be achieved with an original and naturally aged vintage Gibson roundshoulder. Deep basses and a tone to fall in love with. The guitar has a great dynamic paired with a tonal mildness – quite different from the sharp tone of the newer guitars.
It is in a very good condition and looks very clean. The only thing we could find was a light line of light finish damage on the lower bout.
The neck is straight, the frets are in good shape, the action is low, the tuners are working well (but have been exchanged). The bridge has been altered and has a fixed saddle instead of the adjustable one.
