Description
The “little” sister of Martin’s flagship (D-45)!
Don’t worry. By “small” is not meant the body size, because this guitar is also a full-size dreadnought with everything that goes with it.
The Martin D-42 is much more concerned with the optical features, which are somewhat more inconspicuous than the D-45.
This feature also makes it one of the most popular instruments from Martin’s premium segment, because sometimes less is simply more.
The sound of the Martin D-42 Dreadnought naturally plays along where it belongs:
At the top!
Solid spruce top, solid rosewood body and the Forward Shifted Scalloped X Bracing provide a fast response, plenty of foundation and volume and the typical Martin Dreadnought sound, which many guitarists have fallen for since the appearance of this guitar form!
